Cebu Pensione Plaza is a 29 roomed budget hotel along N. Escario Ext in uptown Cebu. It is located just across the road from The Maxwell Hotel. Ayala Mall is around a 10 minute drive away. A small shopping plaza is within walking distance, here you can find a few restaurants and cafes, as well as 7/11 store.
The Pensione is getting on a little in age although the rooms themselves are fairly decent. Superior Rooms are good for 1 person with the bathroom having no hot water. The Deluxe Room and above come with hot and cold showers.
Cebu Pensione Plaza has a small coffee shop/restaurant next door (has WiFi) where it serves breakfast. It also has parking and a 24 generator. Free WiFi is available in the lobby.
My Review of the Cebu Pensione Plaza
The place reasonable with average type rooms, a little on the small side. I like the convenience of the location as it is pretty close to Ayala, although Escario Street can get busy with traffic. Rooms used to come with a free breakfast (which is eaten next door at the coffee shop) but now you need to pay an extra 100 PHP for this. They also increased the room rates by about 100 P, so it doesn’t quite offer value as it once did. As it stands Cebu Pensione Plaza is ok, but it doesn’t really stand out as offering anything special. I give it a rating of Average.
