Video Review of the Langham Hotel
Stay in Luxury in Melbourne
The Langham Melbourne is a luxury 5 star hotel located right on the Yarra River in Melbourne. Part of the Southbank Promenade there are plenty of places to entertain – including bars and restaurants. Just a few minutes’ walk is the Crown Casino, or if you looking for one of Melbourne’s best views check out the Eureka Skydeck on the 88th level. See my video on the top things to do in Melbourne for more details.
The hotel has 388 Rooms. They start from the Superior (from 280 AUD) but it’s the Deluxe (from AUD 380) river rooms that give you the fantastic views. If you can afford it, it’s definitely worth upgrading to this room type. In the video I review some of their rooms, so please that out for more details.
The Melba Restaurant offers some great dining – all with a beautiful view of the city. If you are staying overnight here, do include the buffet breakfast, it’s really good. Next to the restaurant is their Aria Bar and Lounge. Here is where you can enjoy high teas.
The hotel has the Chuan Spa for body treatments, massages, and facials. An indoor swimming pool and fitness gym.
Popular with this hotel are gift vouchers which entitles the user to things such as the spa, afternoon tea or dining. Check directly with the Langham for more details.
The Langham Hotel Melbourne – The Verdict
Without a doubt, in my mind anyhow, the Langham Melbourne is one of city’s best luxury hotels. It’s one of the most classy and elegant hotels in Melbourne. It commands some wonderful views of the Yarra and CBD area. While the rooms with the views come with a premium ($), if you can afford it, it’s well worth booking these rooms. You can also book some rooms with balcony or terraces, this brings a bit more style to the room. It’s nice to get out into the open air. I was a little disappointed with the Deluxe Balcony room as it on the lower floors so you don’t quite get the best views. It’s not a deal breaker, but the higher Executive Terrace Rooms are the ones you want to get if you want amazing views of the Yarra River and Melbourne skyline. The rooms are stylish and elegant. What I loved around the rooms was their beds, I found them being some of most comfortable I’ve slept in.
All in all, a great hotel to stay in Melbourne. If you want a great location and an upmarket hotel. For me it comes in as highly recommended.
When looking for rates at the Langham in Melbourne, I checked the major comparison hotel sites such as Trivago, Hotelscombined and TripAdvisor. At the time I booked, I found booking directly with the Langham with their early bird rates (at least 10 days prior to arrival). It worked out slightly cheaper although you did have to book in advance. Have a look around when you are booking as they may have promos going on.
