The WellCome Hotel in Cebu City is a new (opened in 2013) 3 star hotel that has 68 rooms. The hotel is within easy walking distance to Ayala Center, one of Cebu’s top shopping malls. The mall has plenty of shops, banks, department stores and specialty shops. The Terraces is a perfect place to dine, with plenty of options and cuisines (see video for more details). It’s only a short taxi ride to some of Cebu’s popular nightlife such as Mango Square (popular place with discos and bars), SM Shopping Mall, and IT Park a popular place with restaurants and cafes. Taxis are pretty easy to catch as well as the hotel is just off a main road. Coming from the airport the hotel does offer a transfer, but it’s cheaper just to catch a white taxi to the WellCome Hotel. Expect to pay around 250 PHP and 30-40 minutes travel time. This all depends on traffic as Cebu can at times be very congested.
There is a ground level coffee shop for light snacks and coffee that is open 24 hours. Their main restaurant “Yolees” is open from 6 am and serves up the buffet breakfast (most rooms include this in the rate – just check conditions of your booking).  The breakfast is pretty ordinary but it’s ok for the price.

Rooms consist of the

Standard (19 sq.m with a king size bed)

Deluxe (22 sq.m with 1 single and 1 queen size bed)

Studio (21 sq.m with a king size bed)

Premier Suite (28 sq.m with a king size bed)

All rooms come with air conditioning, flat screen cable TV, free Wi-Fi, safety deposit box, coffee and tea making facilities, mini bar and NDD/IDD telephone.

Some of the lower floor rooms have a veranda. Some rooms have connecting doors to adjacent rooms. There are a small number of rooms suitable for wheelchair access.

The WellCome Hotel has an “urban wading pool” which is basically a small swimming pool or plunge pool. More for someone just to sit and relax in and enjoy the magnificent views of Cebu City (see video).  There is also a beauty salon on the ground floor.

The hotel offers function rooms with equipment (whiteboards, LCD screen projectors and internet connectivity in the rooms). Contact the hotel direct for more details.

During the Sinulog Festival room rates double in price. If you plan to stay during this period book ahead and most hotels in Cebu have a minimum 3 night stay, so you might have put this requirement into sites such as Agoda to show any availability. It is in walking distance of the parade, although it’s a fair walk.

In this area of Cebu, close to Ayala Shopping Mall there are a large number of hotels competing for your buck (or Peso). My pick of hotels in this area is still the Quest Hotel Cebu, followed closely Harolds Cebu, Hotel Elizabeth and Manderin Plaza Hotel although these hotels are of a higher classification. For a cheaper option there is the Tune Hotel or the Islands Stay Hotel, of these two I would pick the Tune.
