St. Mark Hotel is a new (built 2012) 3 star hotel in Cebu City. The Hotel has 56 or 63 rooms depending on where you read it!

The hotel is located within walking distance of Fuente Osmeña Circle which has a couple small shopping malls (Robinson’s Mall and Robinson’s Cybergate) they both have a number of fast food outlets including Mooon Café (Mexican inspired food) Bo’s Coffee, food court, foreign exchange, banks and a few clothing and speciality shops. Around Osmeña Circle you can find a number of fast food outlets. Bear in mind it does attract a few beggars as well as people trying to sell you all sorts of stuff. It’s best just to ignore them and they won’t bother you too much. There is also a casino based in the Rajah Hotel which is also located on the circle. For nightlife in Cebu, Mango Square is a popular destination in Cebu. It is less than a 10 minute walk from the hotel. Taxis pass regularly by the hotel so it’s pretty easy to catch one. Ayala Mall or SM Mall two of the major shopping malls in Cebu are only a short taxi ride away. It also makes it a good option if you plan to stay in Cebu during Sinulog, expect rates to be over double normal rates and a 3 night minimum stay. Rates for the previous Sinulog were 5320 PHP per night for Superior Room (check below for more details).  The parade passes along Maxilom Ave. which is only a short walk away. The hotel is also close to a couple of Cebu’s hospitals (Cebu Doctors and Chong Hua) as well as some of Cebu’s bikini bars.

As you would expect the rooms are modern and clean. They start from the Superior room type which comes with complementary water, coffee and tea making facilities, mini bar, hairdryer, and ironing board, safe and free Wi-Fi. The Deluxe room is a little larger and come with balcony. The Suite rooms are larger again and come with king size bed, cough and larger bathroom which include a bathtub.

For meetings and other functions St. Mark Hotel has 2 boardrooms and a ballroom. The hotel also has a restaurant (open 6am – 10pm) and offers room service. Breakfast is served as a buffet. The restaurant serves both local and international dishes; I put a sample of the restaurant menu on the video (below).

Catching a taxi (white colour) from Cebu airport to St Mark Hotel will cost around 250 Pesos and should take around 30-40 minutes depending on traffic.

My Review of St. Mark Hotel

For a mid-ranged hotel in Cebu, St Mark Hotel is one well worth looking at. I like how everything is new and stylish; it has a nice fresh feeling to the hotel. Rooms are nicely furnished with good amenities. I found the bathroom of the Superior room a little small, although the larger Deluxe room’s bathrooms where more adequate. Having a balcony on the deluxe room was quite nice touch. The staff were really great, they were really helpful showed me around the property and explained a lot of things (see video as well for this). I only ate at the Halo Restaurant during the buffet breakfast. I have to say I was a little disappointed at it, the selection was limited and the quality was a bit ordinary, but nothing too terrible. For a 3 star hotel, I think this is a great option when staying Cebu and I’m giving it a rating of GOOD.
